Each and every day our bodies are working hard to get us where we need to be. In order to help our bodies thrive, there are some essential vitamins we should try to incorporate into our daily routine. You can get these vitamins either by taking a supplement or by eating foods that contain them. Check out these essential vitamins you need to keep your body healthy:
Calcium
If you’re looking to strengthen your bones, then calcium is the vitamin for you! It can be found naturally in milk and dairy products like yogurt and cheese.
Vitamin B-12
This is one of the most essential vitamins your body thrives on. Vitamin B-12 helps convert food into energy and keeps nerve and red blood cells healthy. It also prevents anemia from developing. You can give your body Vitamin B-12 by eating beef, chicken, eggs, fish, and cheese. If you can’t consume it naturally, then you can also take a vitamin supplement. Vegans are encouraged to take at least 10 micrograms of Vitamin B-12 per day.
Vitamin C
Strengthen your immune system by keeping your body stocked up on Vitamin C. When you’re sick, you’ve probably heard someone tell you to drink more orange juice. That’s because OJ is rich in Vitamin C. You can also find it in kale, red peppers, cherries, and grapefruit.
Omega-3
This fatty acid plays an important role in helping with brain function and cardiovascular health. It can be found in most fish and fish oil. It is also known to help with stiffness and joint pain. If you aren’t a fan of fish, then you can take fish oil supplements instead.
Iron
This vitamin is responsible for keeping our blood red and healthy. If you don’t have enough iron, then you’ll likely get a disorder like anemia. To prevent this, incorporate more iron into your diet by eating clams, spinach, liver, tofu, or oysters.
Potassium
Much like calcium, potassium helps keep your body strong and it also helps keep it hydrated. If you are having issues with blood pressure, then you should also start incorporating more potassium into your daily diet. Bananas are rich in potassium, but you can also find it in other fruits and vegetables.
Try and add these essential vitamins to your daily diet. If you can’t consume them naturally in food, then look for them on the label of a daily multivitamin supplement.
